Over a million people in this country live with the consequences of traumatic brain injury, at a cost to the economy of around £15 billion a year.

Chris Bryant, the MP for Rhondda  and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Acquired Brain Injury, is the sponsor of the Acquired Brain Injury Private Members’ Bill.

The Bill is calling for a comprehensive strategy to be implemented in order to meet the needs of adults and children with an acquired brain injury. This strategy, to be published no later than April 2023, aims to improve the provision of services by local authorities, NHS, Department for Education, Ministry of Defence, Prison Service, Department for Work and Pensions and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

You can read more about the Bill and see a video of Chris explaining why it is so important here:

Here at Headway Black Country, we have written to the 12 MPs that represent our clients across the region to ask them to support the Bill.

You could help by writing to your MP too to encourage them to support the Bill. The more we contact them the better.

Check out this website to find out who your MP is:

And you will find a draft letter to send on Chris’s page if you need some help with what to write.

And please share with friends and family, and on social media too, so we all lobby for change!

thank you
